Replacement of underground cabling: Dryden Gait

(adapted from an email from SP Energy Networks)

SP Energy Networks (SPEN) is shortly due to commence work in Dryden Gait as it leaves Shrubhill Substation.

The substation infrastructure has been in place for several decades, and along with the now completed transformer replacement, a section of underground cabling on Dryden Gate (approximately half way up Dryden Gait) as it leaves the substation requires to be replaced to ensure security of the network.

Works are due to start week commencing 20 January 2020 for approximately 8 weeks between 0800 hrs -1700hrs Monday – Friday. The work will be carried out in stages and reinstated each night to allow vehicle access. As with any underground work on the road there will be periods where access is restricted and we ask that you work with the contractors on this – access provision as work is ongoing will only extend the overall timescales of the project and your cooperation is much appreciated. Clear signage will be in place to ensure the work is carried out safely, emergency access will be in place at all times should the need arise.

Residents have also been updated by way of letter drops in relation to the work to be carried out in the area.

SPEN apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused to local residents and assures that work will be completed as quickly as possible.

Should you require any further information please contact Amar Shakoor or Colin Wylie at SP Energy Networks on 0141 614 3749 or 07516 461129.
