Shared Vision – Your Decision is an Edinburgh based project, which enables members of the public who live, work, study and volunteer within Edinburgh to decide how public money is spent in eradicating Islamophobia and associated prejudiced behaviour. We understand that Islamophobic behaviour also affects other faith communities.
Police Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Government have contributed £40,000 for allocation through a Participatory Budgeting process.
Organisations across Edinburgh have submitted project proposals as to how they feel they can contribute towards this, and this is your chance to decide which projects you feel will be most effective and should be funded.
From 1330 on Saturday voting will be available at our event which takes place at the Methodist Church, 25 Nicholson Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9BX, as well as online www.scotland.police.uk/shared-vision-your-decision and in local libraries across the city www.edinburgh.gov.uk/libraries. Voting is open until 13th February.

Police Scotland consults with the public every year on what their priorities are for policing in their community. This year the consultation process is widening, becoming more flexible, and moving online to a digital format that will be open all year.
Everyone’s views across Scotland will be taken on board at a national and local level. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to local policing and all the needs and wants of individual communities will be considered.
It’s a very simple process that should only take a few moments of your time but will shape the way that policing is coordinated across Scotland and in your local community.
Police Scotland will keep you updated on our quarterly results. The consultation will be a completely transparent process as it’s all about your priorities.

We are inviting you to apply for funding to deliver projects which will help create a city free from Islamophobia.
Individuals and groups, supported by a charity or organisation, as well as charities and organisations themselves, can submit an application to receive up to £5,000 worth of funding per project. Continue reading
