Picardy Place is changing: ‘what it means for you’

Together for Edinburgh (a consortium of City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh St James [i.e. developers TH Real Estate], Laing O’Rourke, and the Scottish Futures Trust) has invited ‘important stakeholders’ (i.e. locals) to be told ‘what [the changes to Picardy Place] mean for you’.

Sessions will be at Valvona & Crolla Vincaffè, 11 Multrees Walk

  • Friday 22 September (4pm to 7pm)
  • Saturday 23 September (10am to 4pm)

The Spurtle is concerned that ‘there is no mention on the invitation of you telling them what you think about it, or of contributing to planning democracy by describing what you’d like to see at the start of the design process. As far as we can see, it will be all one-way traffic’.

 

Leith Programme Stakeholder Update 106: Phase 4 (Pilrig Street to McDonald Road)

Dear Stakeholder,

Leith Programme Phase 4 is currently observing the Edinburgh Festival embargo on road works within the city and, as such, has now demobilised fully from Leith Walk and Iona Street.  The Contractor will return to site to re-mobilise and commence the remaining works as of Monday 28thAugust.  Continue reading →

St James Quarter development’s affect on Leith Walk – hear all about it.

Leith Central CC is happy to announce that its AGM will be enhanced by a presentation by Martin Perry, Director of Development THRE (developers of the St James Quarter) on St James Quarter and associated works: impact on Leith Walk and mitigating measures.

The meeting starts at 7pm on Monday 22nd May, at McDonald Rd Library. Other items include

  • reports from the Leith Community Police Team
  • a welcome to our new Edinburgh Councillors
