Door-step crime: bogus workmen
(adapted from a message from a Police Scotland officer to Neighbourhood Watch Scotland)
Dear Community members
I am taking this opportunity to make you aware of 2 recent incidents in the Morningside and Grange areas, where elderly occupiers have been approached by a male in his 30s offering to fix loose roof tiles on their houses.
It is thought the male may be driving a white transit style van.
We are currently investigating the circumstances to establish any criminality, but if you can make your members aware I would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Graeme Nisbet (South East Inspector)
