The Engine Yard Development, Shrubhill: Work starting soon?

Allenbuild advise that

works at the Shrubhill former bus and tram depot will commence in late August 2016, with site-surveying and initial site clearance…. Piling works are scheduled to commence in late October 2016 and will last around 9 weeks, followed by below-ground foundations and the carpark structures. The superstructure of Block A on Leith Walk will commence early in 2017. The construction of the car park will be ongoing during 2017 with superstructure of the two blocks behind Block A both commencing later in 2017.

Stakeholder Update 87 – Leith Programme Phase 5 (Brunswick Street to Montgomery Street) Advertising of Draft Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) and Redetermination Order (RSO)

We would like to inform you that the draft TRO and RSO for the next phase of the Leith Programme, Brunswick Street to Montgomery Street, have now been formally advertised. The Orders have been advertised in accordance with statutory requirements and details are viewable on the Council’s website or in person at the City Chambers on the High Street. Stakeholder Update 85 – Leith Programme Phase 4 contractor mobilisation reminder, and Bernard Street survey work

Leith Programme Phase 4 (Pilrig Street to McDonald Road) contractor mobilisation on site

A reminder that following the procurement process for Phase 4 of the Leith Programme, Land Engineering Ltd was appointed to deliver the Pilrig Street to McDonald Road section of our improvement works. Land Engineering are currently mobilising on site, ahead of a 10 month construction period due to start in September 2016, with a planned completion date expected in Summer 2017.

In addition, in advance of the Council deciding on whether or not to extend the tram line north of York Place, enabling works will be incorporated in the footways in order to ensure that, should the decision be taken in 2017 to extend the current line, future disruption impacting on the local area is kept to a minimum. Appointment of contractor announcement

Following the conclusion of the procurement process for Phase 4 of the Leith Programme, we are pleased to announce that the contractor who will be responsible for delivering the Pilrig Street to McDonald Road section of our improvement works will be Land Engineering Ltd. It is planned that they will mobilise on site in late August to allow construction to start in September 2016. As previously highlighted, it is anticipated that the works will last around 10 months with a planned completion date expected in Summer 2017. More details will follow in a future update.
