Sustainable Energy Action Plan – Edinburgh Council

(adapt from a page on Edinburgh Council’s website)

Edinburgh’s draft Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) aims to reduce carbon emissions by 42% by 2020, from 2005 levels. The most recent data available shows that Edinburgh has reduced CO2 by 14.5% to the year 2011.

Edinburgh Council proposes 5 areas for reducing emissions and energy use:

  • energy efficiency measures
  • renewable energy
  • waste-to energy
  • district heating and co-generation
  • sustainable transport.

You can download the SEAP summary, SEAP reference document and easy print version below from Edinburgh Council’s website.

Leith harbour: potential transformation

STV has published Scottish Enterprise’s wishlist for Leith Harbour. This includes a new berth for large ships, demolishing of listed buildings such as the Imperial grain Silo and dredging the Firth of Forth. But just now there is no funding for this proposed set of developments.

There’s further detail in the Redacted Port of Leith Development Framework.
