Helping communities affected by COVID-19

(from the Scottish Government website)

An additional £350 million will go to those most affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The funding will be made available to councils, charities, businesses and community groups and designed to be flexible, cutting down on red tape to enable them to respond swiftly and according to local need for people impacted economically or through reduced contact with society, including anyone struggling to access food.

Update on Saturday 21 March, copied from tweets from CEC

If you have Coronavirus symptoms you must put your personal waste (eg tissues and disposable cleaning cloths) in a plastic rubbish bag, tie it when full, then double bag it by putting it in another bag. After 72 hours you can put it outside in your grey or black lidded bin.

From Monday we’re suspending blue box collections for glass because of staff shortages. You can find out what to do with your glass, as well as more updates on changes to bin collections here bit.ly/2UrhpUD. We really appreciate your patience & understanding about this.

What We Do and When We Meet

We’re here to listen, represent and take action on the things that matter most to the people who live and work in Leith — from planning applications and housing to street cleaning, public transport, green spaces & more.

Our meetings are on Every Third Monday, 7pm – 9pm, at the Nelson Hall in McDonald Rd Library. All welcome! There is no meeting in July and December.

The monthly meeting agenda includes updates on policing, planning, local parks, clean streets, and more, with an open forum for residents and businesses to raise questions or concerns.

Meeting papers will be uploaded here.
