Plans for new Lidl store at 248 Easter Road – update

Lidle have a website about the proposed new store on Easter Road:

They can also be contacted at

Please see the plans and further information posted earlier here.

Update (11 October 2015)

On 11 September 2015, Lidl submitted a full planning application (15/04194/FUL) which appears to occupy a substantially larger footprint and with more parking/loading and retail space than signalled when Lidl representatives presented to LCCC in 2014 and – apparently – to local residents earlier this year. Objections and comments need to be submitted by 16 October 2015.

I am very concerned – PLANS SUBMITTED TO CEC ARE DOUBLE THE SIZE OF THOSE PRESENTED IN JANUARY. THIS IS THE SIZE OF AN OUT OF TOWN SUPERSTORE. Lidls has DELIBERATELY mislead the local community to prevent objections. Very sly marketing. Please post the ACTUAL PLANS UNDER REVIEW – DEADLINE TO OBJECT IS 15TH OCTOBER. The new plans are far too large for the area – would stick out like a Cameron Toll.
