Care and Repair Edinburgh – Better At Home

Care and Repair Edinburgh (C&RE) is a registered charity supporting older (60+) and disabled people to live safely at home through providing a range of practical services.

C&RE is contracted by the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) to provide the following core services:

  • small repairs
  • adaptations
  • FREE handyperson/volunteer
  • keysafe fitting (police approved)
  • trade referrals.

Leith Neighbourhood Partnership News: Winter 2016

Alcohol in Leith

In 2014, local people said that alcohol was a factor in some of the issues which needed to be prioritised.  Those views are supported by statistical information which tells us that alcohol impacts on the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership area in a number of ways.

The City of Edinburgh’s Licensing Board regularly produce a statement on how they will carry out licensing in the city and the Partnership is asked to say how it would like this done in Leith.  The Partnership would like to be sure that what it says is the correct view of local people.  So it would like to know more about local people’s experience and views on alcohol. British Heart Foundation CPR training (Tollcross and Liberton Fire Stations)

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is offering training on CPR. Sessions last approximately an hour with one session available at Tollcross (Sundays 11am) and one available at Liberton (Weds 4pm) each month.

Anyone that lives or is active in the Old Town (inc Dumbiedykes) or Leith is eligible to take part.
