Pre-Application Advice Service – Consultation

(adapted from an email from Edinburgh Council)

Edinburgh Council, as the planning authority for Edinburgh, is looking to reform its pre-application advice service, including the introduction of service charges.  Pre-application advice is considered to be an important part of the planning service to ensure the submissions of quality applications and to reduce the time spent on processing them.  However, to meet the ongoing budget challenges, the way the pre-application advice service operates needs to change.

A consultation paper on the reform of the pre-application advice service has been published and we are seeking your views on the scope to improve and enhance the pre-application service.

The consultation will run from 6 March to 3 of April 2019 and the feedback received will inform a report to be considered by the Planning Committee in May 2019.  The consultation paper can be accessed via this link and takes only 5 minutes to complete.

Local development plan explained!

Edinburgh Council’s CityPlan team will explain the local development plan process, and introduce what they see as the key (local) issues. This will be at LCCC’s March meeting: Monday 18 March at 7pm at McDonald Road library. The presentation will be followed by 10-15 minutes of questions and answers.

This is important because LCCC’s area is amongst the most densely populated ones in Scotland, with substantial brownfield plots and other developments opportunities (and parallel infrastructure pressures). Hence day to day planning issues are often at the top of LCCC’s agenda.

Feedback Night! Tuesday 12 March, 6:30pm. Come along – Debrief, Discuss, Evaluate, Share ideas…

(copied from LeithChooses’ website)

£eith Chooses is holding an open discussion session to review and evaluate all aspects of the 2019 £eith Chooses process, and to share ideas for future events. Please do come along if you can – 6:30pm, Leith Community Centre cafe, Tuesday 12 March. All Leithers welcome.
