New ‘Local democracy’ page on website

A new page containing more detailed reports on legislation that’s relevant to CCs and similar matters has been started. You’ll find it here. Unfortunately WordPress doesn’t allow more than one blog-style page per website, so articles are differentiated by colour.

Just now there are articles on the Commission on Strengthening Local Democracy and on the Community Empowerment Bill. The latter is about giving new powers to Community Councils – please check it out!

Pilrig Park woodland clearance day: 14 December

FOPP

If you are interested in helping to improve an already wonderful park then please come to a woodland clearance day on Saturday 14th December.

It will start at 10.30am: meet at the small play park at the north end of the park.

It should finish around 1.00pm: Friends of Pilrig Park hope to sooth you with mulled wine and roast chestnuts once the hard work is over.

It would be great if you could bring any bow saws, loppers or secateurs that you may have. But there will be some tools on hand for you to use.

Also, please download and display this poster.
