Proposed amendments to the Planning (Scotland) Bill

(adapted from an email from Ciaran McDonald)

As you may have seen in the press this week, Andy Wightman MSP has proposed amendments to the Planning (Scotland) Bill regarding second homes and short-term lets.

If passed, these proposals amend section 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 so that second homes and short-term lets (amendments 44 and 45, respectively) will require full planning consent. Further information about these amendments can be found in the attached briefing paper (PDF).

Andy welcomes your views and opinions on this and requests that you send your thoughts to him by 31 August 2018 via email (andy.wightman.msp@parliament.scot) or in writing to the address below.
