Volunteer Edinburgh is inviting nominations of local volunteers for a prestigious annual award.

Edinburgh’s Lord Provost and city Volunteering Ambassador, Donald Wilson, will honour the city’s most ‘inspiring volunteers’ at a special awards ceremony to take place on Tuesday 7th June 2016, during #volunteersweek

Volunteer Edinburgh wants to hear about the city’s unsung heroes and most committed volunteers.

The closing date for nominations is Monday 11th April 2016 and further details and a nomination form can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/IVA2016

Edinburgh’s ‘Inspiring Volunteering Achievement Awards’ are in their tenth year. Last year’s award winners included sports coaches, carers, fundraisers, campaigners, befrienders and tutors. They were representative of all backgrounds, ages and the many different cultures that make up Edinburgh’s population. Their volunteering activity took place in arts organisations, museums, community campaigns, gardening and conservation projects, church and sports groups, youth centres, libraries, children’s projects and elderly care.
